I can think of “916” reasons…

What are the top places to check out in the Sacramento area? These are my favorites…

TOP GOLF

One of the newer spots on this list, Top Golf joined Roseville’s skyline a few years ago. Top Golf combines sport with socializing at their premier entertainment venue featuring fun golf games for all skill levels, full-service bar and restaurant, and climate-controlled arcade games.

Places to Eat

The greater Sacramento area is home to a wide range of restaurants, from Michelin Star and Bib winners to fast casual and everything in between. These are some of my top places to check out:

Places to Drink

Sometimes you just need an ice-cold beer, especially in the summer months in Sactown. Check out my favorite spots to grab a brew, cocktail, or glass of vino:

Places to Visit

One of the great things about Sacramento, is its central location to world-class vacation destinations. Want to head to the beach? You’re about 90 minutes from that! Feel like hitting the slopes? See you on the lift in 2 hours!

SAN FRANCISCO
(or as we like to call it ‘the city’)

San Francisco is one of my favorite places to visit, I love that it's so close! I highly recommend a day or weekend trip to take "Mel's Famous Walking Tour".

  • Park at the Ellis & O'Farrell SFMTA parking garage and walk one block over to Union Square, then to Chinatown, North Beach's "Little Italy", Coit Tower, Ferry Building, Exploratorium, Fisherman's Wharf, Ghiradelli Square, Marina District, Palace of Fine Arts, Golden Gate Park, Sutro Baths, Cliff House.

  • For food: try breakfast at Homeskillet, lunch at Tacolicious, ice cream at Baked Bear, dinner at Tomasso or Original Joe's. MOMA is a nice way to spend day two!

surrounded by wine country

Between Placer County Wine Trail, Amador County, Lodi Wines, and being close to outstanding Napa and Sonoma wine county, Sacramento is surrounded by amazing vineyards and viticulture.

My favorite day-trip winery is Concannon in Livermore. Check out their Petite Sirah - you won’t be disappointed.

tahoe, anyone?

I spent a few years as a kid in South Lake Tahoe and as an adult, I still love going back. Lake Tahoe might be known for skiing, boating, and gambling, but it’s also home to amazing hiking, breweries, and restaurants.

Looking for craft brew spots? Try South Lake Brewing Company or Basecamp, each offers a great selection of beer, plus cornhole, ping pong, and board games. Hungry? Head over to Izzy's Burgers for something casual or Riva Grill for upscale dining. Live music? Check out TaCo year-round at Harvey's or California Burger's outdoor stage and seating during the summer.

If you ask me, the American Championship Celebrity Golf Tournament is the can’t-miss event of the summer!

Places to Work

Sacramento is the friendliest city for entrepreneurs getting work done and breaking the traditional cubical mold. Between local roasters and co-working spaces, you can always find an inspiration place to check off your to-do list.
