ABOUT

Antelope is approximately 15 miles northeast of downtown Sacramento and about 5 miles southwest of Roseville. In the late 1800s, Antelope was the only settlement in the area and about 400 people called it home. Many railroad workers settled in Antelope given its proximately to the railroad. Overtime, they left for other areas and Antelope grew to house a few small businesses and homes. In April 1973, a rail car with aircraft bombs exploded in the southern part of Roseville’s Southern Pacific yard and destroyed the town.

What we call Antelope today began as a planned community in the late 1980s. It consists of mostly single-family homes and apartments and because of the newness of the community, it was very well planned. It is very close to McClellan Air Force Base and has great freeway access to Interstate 80.

City parks

Antelope has 10 parks within its city limits, each offering unique experiences for athletes, young families, and those wanting to enjoy the great outdoors. Tetotom Park, Pokelma Park offer tennis courts and a baseball diamond. If you head to Firestone Park, you may be able to catch the 2015 Little League Champions, The Antelope Braves, practice.
