ABOUT

Cameron Park is a community located in the Sierra Nevada foothills, about 30 miles east of Sacramento and 70 miles west of South Lake Tahoe. The indigenous people to the area were the same Native American tribe as those inhabiting Auburn. Modern development accelerated in the area when Larry Cameron purchased 5,000 acres of foothill land in the 1950s for development purposes. He developed the land for for ranching, then built housing, a golf course, parks, a lake and a small airport.

Today, Cameron Park is home to single family homes, apartments, condos, a few ranches, and many businesses. A notable neighborhood in Cameron Park is Cameron Airpark Estates. The streets double as taxiways and you’ll see residents house their small aircrafts in their driveways!
